Successful lawyer Victor realizes that his mother Rivka has never told him anything about the deportation of her Russian Jewish parents. Raised Catholic like their father, Victor and his sister Tania know nothing of their mother's wartime past. Unable to get direct answers from his aged mother, Victor tries to put together the missing pieces of his family history. He traverls with his wife and children to the tiny village where his grandparents were forced to hide during the war.
