Synopsis :  Nach drei Kurzgeschichten des französischen Schriftstellers Guy de Maupassant inszenierte Max Ophüls 1952 den opulenten Episodenfilm 'Pläsier' rund um das Thema Lust und Leid. Im ersten Teil 'Die Maske' nimmt ein Greis im Jugendwahn unter der Maske eines jungen Schönlings an rauschenden Festen teil. 'Das Haus Tellier' erzählt von der Eigentümerin eines Bordells, die mit ihren Mädchen ein Kirchenfest besucht - sehr zum Unmut der Junggesellen im Ort. In 'Das Modell' verliebt sich ein Künstler in selbiges und stürzt sie beide damit in eine Tragödie.
