Little Marie-Paule falls into the clutches of a criminal who hands her over to a harsh shoemaker. She spends several unhappy months with him. But thanks to her father's unexpected return from the war where he was supposedly killed and brave young Bosco's help, Marie-Paule overcomes the hurdles on her path and can return to a free and happy life.
