Paris in the twenties, young Caprice enjoys a fast, albeit unexpected rise to success as a singer. She is caught between her mixed-up feelings for a young composer and society's censorious outrage. Bagnolet, an anarchist and photographer, enjoys watching the adventures of the young woman, now dubbed Lady Paname, and strives to help love, if not morals, win the day.
