A Parisian taxi driver, Maurice Berger and his family, are off for the holidays in their trailer. At the Spanish border, just before being frisked by customs, a young woman slips a stolen diamond into unsuspecting Maurice's pocket. The attempts to get the precious stone back trigger off a series of mishaps, including a short prison term for the Bergers. They manage to prove their innocence and can return to Paris, at last.
